Volunteering

Why volunteer?

As a volunteer, you can learn new skills, gain experience, and increase your knowledge. Volunteering is also a great opportunity to make friends within the environmental field by working alongside other volunteers, staff and academics. Volunteering with us can also be a stepping stone towards jobs in conservation in the future.

As a volunteer, you can get involved in activities such as:

  • wildlife surveying (such as helping to monitor butterflies and birds)
  • site maintenance tasks like grass cutting and edging on paths
  • helping to keep the park tidy and litter free
  • vegetation clearance and removing invasive plant species
  • removing old fences, installing new fences, gates, signs and benches
  • enjoying the great outdoors while helping the environment and your community

And while doing this keeping yourself fit and healthy, connecting with nature and getting outside in the fresh air.
